A little about my “mess”… I am 30 years old, again (31 to be exact, but who’s counting). I recently got married to my loving and mostly supportive husband, Cameron (I say “mostly” because he told me if I got another horse he’d leave me). We have been together just about 10 years and have two beautifully challenging children, Oliver who is 7, and Tegan who is 3. We also share a house with my older, although looks younger, sister, Marissa (damn her for not having kids!) Together we own and operate a 15-acre horse farm, all while working full-time grown-up jobs. Can you see how things can get a little messy? On the farm we have 9-ish horses of our own (I don’t know why 10 would be the deal breaker, that seems like a nice number to me 😊), we board another 8 horses, we also have 2 barn cats (Nugget and French Fry), a cow (Levi Moo), and 2 pigs (Jack and Chris). We did have a cluck load of chickens, but a few months ago we had a chicken massacre and decided it was best to find the remaining 4 a new home and try again in the Spring when life is less…. Hard… haha. In the house we have our dog, Cora, and my sister has 2 dogs, Kenner and Benjamin… oh and we can’t forget Peanut, the turtle. For work, I manage a specialty retail store and have a staff of 10-15 women. Needless to say, mostly every second of my day is filled. I also think it is noteworthy to say, shortly after having my son, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, which if you don’t know, is a fun little auto immune disease where my immune system attacks my joints and causes severe pain, swelling, and overall misery. So, along with the chaos of life in general, I have been on a mission to find comfort with diet and exercise, so I do not have to be on crazy drugs that are also damaging to my health. Have I lost you yet?
